I like this contents page, I like the layout and the style of the page, Its very well put together. I like the strips of colour used to highlight the cover lines from the little bit of info underneath,it breaks up the page and gives the page a good look. The colours work well together and I like the way the masthead font is the same but the colour has changed, i dunno it just looks good to me.
To improve i would have the the font size bit smaller so you can fit more stories on the page because it looks a bit bare and with that size font a bit childish.
I think your contents page looks really proffessional and it's very easy to read. I like the font of the masthead and the colour scheme, which I think is different and all works well together. I like the angle of the main image, I think this is also a bit different and works well. The only thing I would say that could be improved would be how much you have on the page, I think it could look a bit better if you had more going on just to make it look a bit busier. But other than that I can't think of anything else I think you've done a really good job.
